SCMHRD, stands as an example for rigor and perfection, which prepares the students for tomorrow's unpredictable events. We believe in inculcating in the students an attitude to constantly adapt to change, watch out for opportunities to grab and hurdles to overcome, to be able to survive in the fast-paced globalized economy. We believe that Management is an applied art and also science and can be best learned and inculcated if live and real time exposure is facilitated. To enable real and live learning we are engaging with various corporate to do live projects on problems that are of immediate concern to the students. The students at SCMHRD not only get a good understanding of the Indian rural heartland but also the international market that they will have to perform in. They get sufficient understanding about what to do as responsible citizens of India and also of the commercial and ethical viability of the strategies that they will propose and implement. We truly believe that SCMHRD is helping to create leaders and entrepreneurs who are in tune with the world around them, are sensitive of their surroundings, are functionally competent and attitudinally positive and most importantly 'those who will sincerely persevere to the best of their ability'.
The flagship programme of SCMHRD is a two year full-time residential course spread over four semesters offering specializations in Marketing, Human Resource Management, Finance and Operations Management. Ranked amongst top programs in the country, its emphasis is to provide students a focused and channelized learning experience in the specialization of their own choice to help them become leaders of tomorrow.
SCMHRD’s approach is parallel to the recent shift from product focus to customer focus in marketing arena simply because our students are familiarized with the latest market trends and real business models through workshops, corporate case studies and guest lectures by industry experts, enabling them to provide solutions at par with organizations’ needs.
From accounting based to economy-based finance, this course is designed to provide a strong foundation in applied finance required in today’s competitive financial world. It focuses on the development of quantitative and analytical skills and provides in-depth learning in the areas of financial decision-making, investment structuring, pricing and risk management of financial instruments.
With the focus of Human Resource Management shifting to a strategic orientation with an emphasis on the survival and growth of the business, the new Human Resource Professional is a consultant for the utilization, engagement and strategic positioning of human talent, to meet the business needs of the present as well as the future. The programme enables students to integrate core business competencies with interpersonal skills crucial to managing people.
Indian Economy is now poised for another dose of liberalization. After insurance, the retail business will also be thrown open to overseas companies. Thus supply chain optimization can make a difference. With hardly any scope of product differentiation, organization will compete on the basis of their supply chain management and optimization competency. To meet this growing need, this course explores new research potentials and provides the students with a technology based learning approach to efficiently manage the important verticals of industries – manufacturing, supply chain & logistics.
Today the key for any successful business is to be able to quickly respond to trends in competition and technology while not losing sight of the strategic objectives. The purpose of this course is to impart knowledge to the students by way of presenting, analyzing and discussing the different facets of business strategy formulation, implementation and effective strategic evaluation processes referring to real time business scenarios and situations. The course covers a variety of business strategy subjects concerned with firm positioning in the context of different markets, industries and locations. The case study and Capstone simulation pedagogy process adopted in the teaching of the course help students to understand how to create objectives and goals for the organization and identify organizational structures that fit the required strategies. Other topics on innovation enables students to understand the nuances of new product development, planning and evaluation of innovation initiatives, and management of innovation across organizational boundaries. The courses on Entrepreneurship provide in-depth insights on how to identify entrepreneurial ideas and opportunities, creating a business plan, securing financial backing and coordinating business growth of startups and new ventures.
‘Infrastructure development’ has been the government’s topmost growth agenda in the recent years. Involvement of private sector in developing and financing infrastructure has necessitated a demand for engineering professionals, who also have good exposure to domains of demand analysis, regulatory and governance framework, legal & policy guidelines, environmental & social issues, tendering, bidding & contractual management, etc. Hence, there is an urgent need of a large workforce of professionals having comprehensive & multifaceted skills for Infrastructure Planning, Development & Management.
SCMHRD’s unique program ‘MBA – Infrastructure Development and Management’ aims to ‘Build Capabilities to Make Infrastructure Happen’. The course content blends SCMHRD’s proven legacy of management education and a curriculum that has been designed by Industry experts. The course is exhaustively designed to deal with various issues and challenges in the development of infrastructure in India. At the same time, it provides a strong grounding in general managerial aspects like business strategies, supply chain management and business laws. Students are given the opportunity to specialize in select functional and sectoral areas.
MBA in Business Analytics programme aims to provide the students with conceptual and practical knowledge of business analytics along with a sound understanding of management theory and practice.
Corporate exposure to the practice of Business Analytics methods. The programme is built on a solid foundation of programming in R and Python – the de facto standards for statistical computing and analysis. Students are also given a strong grounding in using SPSS with various add-on packages. Data visualization software like Tableau features strongly in the programme. All courses have a solid lab component with case studies provided by experts from industry. Courses include cutting edge technologies like the Internet of Things and Mobile Analytics. The courses in the MBA Analytics programme are designed with active participation by people in industry working with Analytics and Big Data. In addition, all courses are taught by the people in industry who helped design the courses from a holistic perspective.
The courses are designed and taught in a way that will give an appreciation for various functions encountered in a real life Analytics situation – the interplay between Marketing, Risk, Operations, HR, and Finance. Students get hands-on learning about how these processes are interlinked.
The increasing availability of data has meant that management decisions can be backed up with solid analytical facts about the data. Tools that were once the exclusive domain of statisticians are now increasingly available to dissect and explore data to expose patterns that are invaluable in decision making.
